The Boise State staff is not afraid to go after the big fish across the nation. They proved that in a short time in the 2014 cycle and closed strongly.
Chason Virgil is a top QB priority in '15.
Once again, it's apparent in 2015 the staff will look to capitalize on that momentum.
Our database indicates the staff has made at least 24 offers in the 2015 class. This list is likely not complete in any way shape or form. However the results have already yielded two commits in the 2015 class.
Here is just a quick run down of what we notice from some of the early offers.
QB a Priority
Quarterback is still a priority even after the two additions from 2014. Mike Sanford is using his early connections from his time at Stanford to target some elite arms.
Chason Virgil has a relationship with Sumner-Gardner and will be one to watch. Auburn recently offered which could change things for him, but Boise should be in the game for Virgil.
Don't Sleep on Butler
Like Virgil, Josh Butler has a connection with Sumner-Gardner and those on staff. That relationship should pay dividends here, but don't consider it a slam dunk.
Butler will take some trips and see a few other programs. At the end of the day he's almost a scheme-specific corner and the type of defense will play a role in his decision.
The Need for Speed
Boise State seems to be working hard on adding speed to the program. Some of the elite speedsters have been offered from around the country including Javarius Davis, Christian Kirk, Chico McClatcher and Darrell Stewart among others.
The Broncos appear ready to ramp up the speed on offense under Harsin and Sanford. The addition of Cory Young in the 2014 cycle could pay dividends immediately.
